Miss Hall's First Grade

Dear Parents and Students,

This week we will be reviewing the sounds that the students have been learning about. The short vowels of a and i will be the main focus of this week. It is really important that we are making sure that the students are also practicing at home. It is really easy and fun to make a game of saying words that have these sounds. I use this as the students are walking out the door for lunch and recesses. I have also attached the spelling words for this week on the bottom of the web page. 
        In math this week we will be finishing up Chapter 1 Addition Concepts. All of the students have done a great job turning in all of their math homework everyday! It is such a great thing to see that students are taking their work so seriously and even better that all of the parents are actively involved in each students learning.
       Writing is still a struggle for most of the students. I have been working with the students on their penmanship and I will continue to do so throughout the weeks. I look forward to a great week!
