What a great quarter! As a good note, I have seen a general improvement of math grades and have been generally very impressed by the students' quarterly math benchmarks. Keep up the good work! This week we will be focusing on fractions.
Monday: 4.3 Prime and Composite numbers

Here are some vocabulary words to watch out for:
Prime number- a number that has exactly 2 factors, one and itself
Composite number- a whole number having more than two factors
common factor- a number that is a factor of two or more numbers
Greatest Common Factor- the greatest factor that two or more numbers have in common
Simplest form- a fraction in which 1 is the only number that can divide evenly into the numerator and the denominator
Communitative Property of Addition-the property that states that when the order of two or more addends are changed, the sum is the same.
Associative Property of Addition- the property tha states that when the order of to or more addends is changed, the sum is the same
Parents:
Students who do poorly on assignments will be given 1 chance to redo them for half credit. This is to help the student understand the concept, not simply to help their grade. If your student has questions, please encourage them to come to me and I can help them!
IMPORTANT: The Go Math we do at ACA may be different and possibly more difficult than your student is used to. If your student absolutely does not understand, please attach a note explaining what they are struggling with. I will work with them the next morning. This is no problem! Of course, this is not an excuse to get out of homework, but it is a way to help your child succeed at ACA.Thanks! - Ms. Lunt
