 Mrs. Lee- 6th Grade

Dear Parents,

It's hard to believe but it's that time of the year again - AIMS!!! And while you weren't part of the teaching staff you have been just as important to your children's success as we have been.

Your children received the best education when you and our dedicated teachers worked as a team. It's a parents enthusiasm, support and involvement that inspires children to do their best; and a teacher's ability to teach what they need to learn. Together we have achieved wonderful things this school year.

But, we aren't done yet!! 6th graders have AIMS tests on April 16th, 18th, 23rd, and 24th. The night before each of these days it is extremely important that the students receive a full 8 hours of sleep and a fulfilling breakfast the morning of testing. This will fill them with the energy that they will need to be VERY SUCCESSFUL during these 4 days.

In closing, I encourage you to fully embrace the moment and urge you to take the time from your busy schedule to help your children to excel one last time.

This school year we have maintained a classroom environment that has been conducive to learning for all children. I appreciated the parental support that you have provided your children. With your continued support, together we will educate your children and help him/her to become a responsible, caring, and unique individual. Thank you for all that you have done for your children.

If there are any questions or concerns please contact me via email (alee@azcharter.com) or front office (623-974-4959) to schedule a time to discuss.

Thank you for your commitment to your children's education and I look forward to seeing ALL of them move on to 7th grade.

Sincerely,

Mrs. A. Lee

 Important Information

Field Trip  May 23, 2013

The Biosphere 2 student tour is designed to both help students appreciate the history of the Biosphere 2 building itself and learn how it is used today to study earth system science. Participation by all is a key element of the tour experience as each student will be able to share a bit of information with the rest of the group about what is seen on the tour route. The tour experience includes an up-close look at ongoing research projects, as well as interactions with University of Arizona researchers themselves whenever possible. This gives students a chance to observe and discuss, in an age-appropriate manner, the scientific method as they see it in action. Students will also experience the special nature of each of the six wilderness biomes inside the building. Since no visit to Biosphere 2 is complete without a walk through the technosphere (specialized basement area) to see the machinery that controls the giant laboratory, the students make their way to that space on their way to the south lung (inactive variable volume air chamber). The students finish the tour by unraveling the secret word underlying everything they have seen along the way. A packet of follow-up materials will be given to the leader of each participating student group so everyone can continue to benefit from the Biosphere 2 tour.
