Arizona Charter Academy, 16011 N. Dysart Road, will be honored with a “Best of Heart” award, which is given to top companies that prospered through building sustainable relationships with employees, customers and the community. This is the first year for this award, which is named in honor of Arizona’s 100th birthday.
“It was a huge honor to learn that our school is being recognized with such a prestigious award for doing what we have strived to do from the very beginning,” Henderson said
“From our community events like blood drives involving students and staff to being involved with many other local organizations like the Elks, Benevilla, Rotary and the city of Surprise, we recognize the importance of reaching out to the community and working together with everyone around us. When the community has a need, our students step up.”
Henderson said the business community has also played a large role in the school, providing both volunteers and financial support. The school’s partnership with Grand Canyon University allows high school students to take college courses at a reduced rate.
