ACA Course Overview

ACA conducts classes for ten months out of the year and offers all Arizona Department of Education-required courses in math, reading, Language Arts, technology, etc.   ACA uses individualized curriculum that is aligned to the Arizona State Standards as their core curriculum in the areas of English, math, science, and social studies.  The coursework provides individualized instruction at each student's prescribed level of learning and is also taught in small groups based on the student's ability level. We also use a computer-based coursework, Pathways Oddessy Ware, that provides personalized, character-based academic tools to meet the needs of the individual student.  Pathways software offers content that is updated as needed,  is aligned with Arizona State Academic Standards, provides instant performance feedback to students and teachers, incorporates multimedia interaction through digital video and interactive games, and assigns lesson plans based on the school calendar to ensure each student meets his/her academic goals by the end of the year.  High school students use Pathways courseware on the laptop computers kept at their desks. In addition to the individualized curriculum, the school also uses scientific research based programs in traditional classroom settings.

ACA Course Catalog

This catalog represents a sampling of the courses we offer. As our students needs change and our school continues to grow, we are adding appropriate coursework to our offerings.

High School Graduation Requirements

Arizona Charter Academy has set graduation requirements to meet State Standards.  Students must meet all diploma requirements and met the AIMS requirements before they will be permitted to participate in the commencement ceremonies.  While the completion of these requirements is necessary for high school graduation and will allow admittance to a college, it does not ensure entrance into all colleges, trade schools, etc.  Anyone planning on higher education should determine the entrance requirements of the particular school.

In addition to the following credit requirements, each High School Student must pass all three sections of the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) test.
